Stick drift occurs when your controller's analog stick registers movement even when you aren't touching it. In games, this looks like your character slowly walking forward or the camera spinning on its own. It's caused by the physical wear and tear of the internal potentiometers—the small carbon sensors that measure the stick's position. Over time, friction, dust, and aggressive gameplay degrade the sensor's accuracy, causing the resting "center" point to shift and constantly send false signals to your console.
Important: Our tool cannot fix true mechanical stick drift. When the potentiometers inside your controller are physically worn down, broken, or heavily coated in debris, the only true fix is to open the controller and replace or clean the analog stick modules.
However, if your controller has minor misalignments or resting offset drift, our tool can help you re-center your analog sticks entirely through software. Our tool connects to your controller via the WebHID API and accesses its non-volatile storage (NVS) memory mirror. By reading the current resting position of your sticks, it calculates the offset and writes a new software-level calibration curve. This acts as a software band-aid for minor issues, but will not resolve severe mechanical drift.

No software tool can permanently fix hardware wear. Software calibration fixes minor misalignments by adjusting the controller's internal deadzones and center offset. This is a temporary band-aid for minor drift. If the physical sensor is degrading, you will eventually need to replace the potentiometer hardware itself.
